Whatever It Takes And Then Some winners – March 2018

Marilou Willette, housekeeping assistant at Life Care Center of Orange Park, Florida, went the extra mile for a resident who was having health problems from her disease. Marilou researched the disease on her own time and notified staff and nurses of the information she had found. She also spent time with the resident, taking her for walks, helping to bathe and dress her and also singing to her. When it was time for the resident to go to a new home, Marilou went with her to make sure she was settled in. She still regularly visits the former resident on her own time to check in and make sure she is OK.

Life Care Center of Orange Park raises funds for community needs

In August 2017, residents and associates at Life Care Center of Orange Park, Florida, were engaged in two large community fundraisers for local needs.

Their first event was a bake sale on Aug. 4 to raise money to support Orange Park Elementary School....

Life Care Center of Orange Park residents and associates showcase their finished paintings.

On Nov. 8, 2016, residents at Life Care Center of Orange Park, Florida, tapped into their creative side with a fun activity – painting.

“It was a twist on the trendy Paint Night events,” explained Margery Flannagan, community liaison. “The activities department provided canvases, easels, paint and smocks, as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres to make the event extra special.”

Arnell Dodd, registered nurse at Life Care Center of Orange Park, Florida, wanted to help spread Christmas cheer this holiday season. She decided to act as a secret Santa for residents at the facility. If a resident mentioned that they needed or wanted something specific, Dodd purchased the item and gave them the present anonymously.

Four local Life Care facilities support Fifth Annual Remission Rocks

On Sept. 25, 2015, Life Care’s facilities in Northeast Florida sponsored the Fifth Annual Remission Rocks concert at River City Brewing Company in Jacksonville.

The event is a growing fundraiser for Bosom Buddies, a local organization that provides services to women in the region who are dealing with breast cancer.
